Kalahari desert - Fish River Canyon - Oranje River - Tiras Mountains - Sossusvlei - Gamsberg

• Departure from Windhoek at 07h00 to Dordabis, where we visit the Ibenstein carpet weaving workshop. Continue along the dry riverbed of the Olifants River via Stampriet on to Gochas. Here we set up camp on a farm at the edge of the Kalahari Desert.

• Our drive takes us through beautiful dune landscape past Aroab to the Great Karas Mountains. Camping in the open nature.

• Passing through the small Karas mountains and via Holoog to the gigantic Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world.
• Camping at Ai-Ais / Fish River Canyon.

• Continuing our journey via Ai-Ais down to the Orange River - border to South Africa - we follow the river flow to the west. Full day canoe trip on the river.
• Camping on the northern riverbank of the Orange River.

• Through the rugged Huns mountains we get to the mining town Rosh Pinah and further north to Klein Aus Vista. Camping Klein Aus Vista.
• Optional: Drive to Kolmanskop and Lüderitz.

• Drive to the Tiras Mountains, where we spend the next two days on farms in the area. The farmer will guide us to the top of the Tiras mountains with an extensive view over the Namib Desert. Lytops "living stones" and an interesting flora will be found.
• Camping on the farm.

• Along the Namib Rand we continue our journey to Sesriem and the Sesriem Canyon. Daytrip to the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei. Camping at Sesriem.
• Optional: Hot-air balloon flight.

• Our drive takes us up the Gamsberg Pass on the southeastern edge of the Khomashochland. In the evening opportunity for stargazing, or if preferred a climb to the top of the Gamsberg Plateau.
• Camping at the Gamsberg or on Farm Hakos.

• Returning to Windhoek via the mountainous Khomashochland, for arrival at approximately 14h00.
