Day 1 |
Katima Mulilo(Namibia) - Livingstone (Zambia)
The safari starts and ends in Katima Mulilo (Nambia) or Livingstone (Zambia), depending on your flight schedule.
Over the border Sesheke, near Katima, our drive takes us through the Mosi-oa-Tunha National Park to Livingstone. After visiting the Victoria Falls and a stroll on the market, we
visit a traditional "Boma" for dinner. (dinner at own cost).

Day 2 |
Livingstone-Lusaka
Visit to a museum in Choma, to view the history and culture of the Tonga people. Continue through Mazabuka with sugar plantations lining the road on each side, onto the "Kafue Flats". Lunchbreak on the banks of the Kafue.
Through a spectacular mountainlandscape we reach Lusaka. Optional: visit to the museum, with the ,Broken Hill Man'. On the city market you can exeprience a typical african market life.

Day 3 |
Lusaka - Mkushi
Via the "Great North Road" we reach Kabwe. Visit to the famous `Big Tree`, an impressive old tree in the centre of town. Continue through the `Chisamba Farming Block` up to Mkushi.

Day 4-6 |
Mkushi - Bangweulu Swamps
On our way to the north we visit the Livingstone memorial. Continue to the Bangweulu swamps. Depending on the waterlevel, we can do some game drives and boat trips or a guided walking safari in the swamps. Here "the water meets the sky" and the rare "shoebill" can be seen.

Day 7-8 |
Bangweulu - Kundalila Falls - Escarpment
The Kaombe, a 65m high waterfall is quite a site. A small hiking trail takes you right up to the falls and offers a magnificant view over the surroundings and down to the Luangwa valley. Continue through the Muchinga highlands to Mpika, where we visit a typical local market. The privately owned Kasanka park offers a variety of wildlife, including the seldom Sitatunga antilope and over 400 bird species.

Day 9-11 |
Escarpment - South Luangwa National Park
Today the road leads through the highland, offering magnificant views, to Mfuwe - the gateway to the South Luangwa National park, one of the most magnificant national parks of Afrika.
Game drives along the Luangwa river, where you see hippos and crocodiles sunbathing. With some luck we might see some leopards, lions, and big buffalo and elephant herds. The birdlife is an absolute hightlight for ornitologists. The scenic beauty and impressive wildlife has made the Luangwa valley famous.

Day 12 |
South Luangwa - Chipata
Today we make our way along the ,4-wheel track' through the Lower Zambezi Park up to Chipata. En-route we might see some 'overloaded' cotton transporters.
In the evening you will be rewarded with an excellent dinner at "Mama Rula".

Day 13 |
Chipata - Rufunsa
The narrow road leads us through dense Mopane forests up to Rufunsa.

Day 14-16 |
Rufunsa - Lower Zambesi National Park
The next two days we stay in the Lower Zambezi Park. On a canoe trip you can glide slowly down the river, or paddle through picturous lagoons - excellent for game and bird viewing. On the riverbeds you will find numerous wildlife and birdlife.

Day 17 |
Lower Zambesi - Mazabuka
Today we leave the park and make our way towards Chirundu. En-route we stop at the 150 million year old "Chirundu Fossil Forest".

Day 18 |
Mazabuka - Livingstone
After breakfast we make our way back to Livingstone. A drive through the Mosi-oa-Tunha National Park is worthwhile.
Overnight in a bungalow (B/L).
Here your safari ends! Optionally we can book an extended program for guests flying out from Livingstone.

Day 19 |
Livingstone - Katima Mulilo
Early departure via Sesheke over the border back to Katima Mulilo in Namibia, in time for your flight to Windhoek.
